Promethean showcases its newest interactive display and Google EDLA-certified computing device at Bett
The ActivPanel LX and OPS-A combination is designed to meet the needs of schools looking for a high-quality, low-cost option that can plug in easily to their existing technology ecosystem
(Bett, London: 24th January 2024) Promethean, a leading global education technology company, will showcase the ActivPanel LX and OPS-A computing module for the first time at Bett (24-26 January 2024). The ActivPanel LX is a low-cost panel that provides customers exceptional ease of use and flexibility, along with the quality and longevity the company is known for. With this latest offering, Promethean is well positioned to meet the needs of a growing segment of the education technology market.
The ActivPanel LX is a simplified, peripheral touchscreen panel that can be easily connected to a laptop with a USB-C cable or paired with a computing module to complement an existing Chrome or Windows environment. It also works seamlessly with the software and apps teachers already use, so they can plug and play with minimal training.
IT administrators will find the ActivPanel LX easy to set up and install, and they won’t have to enrol, manage, or frequently update the panel. Because no personal identifying information is saved to or retained on the panel and it is not part of a network, IT staff can use their existing security protocols and authentication methods and won’t have to perform any security updates.
The OPS-A computing module is one of the first Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) certified devices designed for use with an interactive display. The new computing device is specifically designed to be paired with the ActivPanel LX. The OPS-A allows users of the ActivPanel LX to access the Google Play Store right from their panel. Many of the most popular Google apps are preloaded onto the device, including YouTube, Google Chrome, and Google Meet. Having Google Drive on the panel also provides ready access to content right from the cloud. This certification requires security updates to be released every 90 days, so Promethean customers will benefit from superior protection of their data as well.
“We understand that finding the budget for interactive display upgrades can be challenging,” said Simon Port, regional vice president of sales, UKI at Promethean. “We believe that with the ActivPanel LX, we have a great solution for schools prioritising value – especially with the launch of the OPS-A, which brings a familiar Promethean experience to the new ActivPanel. Our team is looking forward to sharing this innovation with visitors at Bett and detailing best practice advice to help alleviate common difficulties.”
Alongside the ActivPanel LX, Promethean will also present the ActivPanel 9 and ActivPanel 9 Premium at Bett to showcase its full suite of interactive flat panel displays, and give schools the freedom and flexibility of choice.
