The brainchild of Mogg Hercules, independent family-run school, Dallington, is set to showcase its unique brand of nurturing, creativity and “multi-sensory, multi-disciplinary experiences”, at the Independent Schools Show, Battersea Park, London, from 12-13 November.

Based in Clerkenwell, Islington, Dallington caters for around 150 children aged from three to eleven, in a non-competitive and supportive environment which promotes autonomy, inclusion, active learning and continuous development.

Since its inception in 1978, non-selective Dallington has earned an enviable reputation for producing well-rounded, confident individuals and counts bestselling novelist and journalist, Jojo Moyes, among its former pupils.

In line with Dallington’s aspirations for the upcoming Independent Schools Show, billed: “The World’s Biggest Open Day”, the Hercules family chose to work with leading event specialists, Quadrant2Design, opting for Q2D’s exclusive free-hire and installation service.

In the last eight years, one in five of Dallington’s Year 6 Leavers has achieved an academic, arts or music scholarship and 2016 is proving a ground-breaking year to date, with many highlights, including:

o   An outstanding internal evaluation with LA validation for the EYFS

o   A complete redevelopment of the playground

o   The introduction of  Forest Schools

o   The introduction of Kodaly Method

o   The children took part in an experiment conducted by NASA to send seeds to space with Tim Peake

o   A Clerkenwell Design Week exhibition

o   Two new classroom lofts – used for role-play, quiet reading, small group work

o   The first Summer Extravaganza (production, featuring performance arts including circus skills) – standing room only for both shows!

o   A new prospectus and website

In 2009, Headteacher, Proprietor and Founder, Mogg Hercules, was presented with the Ted Wragg Lifetime Achievement Award (with Distinction); and today, Dallington’s broad curriculum and child-centred approach to learning and development continues to win plaudits from within the Education sector, local community – and of course – former pupils!
